The mission of the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center is to ensure the lessons of the Holocaust inspire action today. Administrative Assistant Nikki Demetriades keeps the museum’s office in top shape to continue advancing our mission.
Q: Tell me about your role and what a typical day might look like for you.
A typical day for me looks like preparing and sorting data, retrieving the mail, assisting coworkers with tasks, keeping the kitchen stocked and tidy, and of course seeing all my friends here at the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center.
Q: What is your favorite part of the museum?
My favorite part of the museum is definitely the Humanity Gallery.
Q: Why do you think the work the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center does is important?
I could go on and on about this! The work of this museum is important because it not only educates people on the atrocity of the past, but it’s also an inspiration of things we can do together to make the future better.
Q: What about the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning?
All of it! I really love this museum and I love all my coworkers. The environment is so supportive and educational that it’s hard to find a negative.
Q: What is a favorite moment you have of working here?
My favorite moment? That’s a hard one. My mind immediately jumps to Upstander Weekend. Seeing everyone so happy and participating in the awards ceremony was heartwarming.
Q: What’s something else you wish people knew about you?
I’m not sure! I feel that I’m a very open book so it’s hard to say.
