1. Our Weekly Holocaust Speaker Series on Zoom

In this intimate and meaningful experience, speakers present stories of life before, during, and after the Holocaust. The Holocaust Speaker Series is held each Wednesday at 11 a.m. on Zoom. The series is sponsored by Margaret & Michael Valentine. Explore our speakers today.

2. Closing Night of the Jewish & Israeli Film Festival at Union Terminal / MARCH 1 7:30 P.M.

Join us for the closing night of the Mayerson JCC Jewish and Israeli Film Festival at historic Union Terminal. The evening features the film, Farewell Mister Haffmann. Your ticket includes a closing night dessert reception in Union Terminal’s iconic Rotunda.

3. Hornstein Lecture Featuring Extremism Scholar Dr. Cynthia Miller-Idriss / MARCH 26, 1 P.M.

Join us for the annual Stephen and Lusia Hornstein Lecture on the Holocaust and the Human Spirit at historic Union Terminal. This year’s featured speaker is Cynthia Miller-Idriss, an award-winning author and scholar of extremism and radicalization. Cynthia Miller-Idriss is a professor at the American University in Washington, DC, where she directs the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab (PERIL). She has testified before the U.S. Congress and regularly briefs policy, security, education and intelligence agencies in the U.S., the United Nations, and other countries on trends in domestic violent extremism and strategies for prevention and disengagement. 4. Yom HaShoah Commemoration at the Mayerson JCC / APRIL 16, 2 P.M.

Who will stand with survivors to ensure their stories continue to be told? Join the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center, the Mayerson Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Family Service for this year’s Yom HaShoah Commemoration. Stand with us as we remember and mourn the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and honor the survivors. Join us on Sunday, April 16, at the Mayerson JCC, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in-person or via Zoom livestream.

Our featured speaker is James E. Young, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of English and Judaic & Near Eastern Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he has taught since 1988, and Founding Director of the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies at UMass Amherst.
